Janet Jackson settles accounts with her brother Michael in a documentary. She also clears up rumors regarding a secret child.
Janet Jackson, 55, settles accounts and clears up rumors. In the multi-part documentary “Janet”, which premieres on US television on Friday, she talks, among other things, regarding the difficulties she had with her famous brother Michael Jackson, † 50, and regarding an alleged child …
“Then they said I had a child and I kept it a secret”
According to People magazine, in “Janet” the 55-year-old addresses long-standing speculation that she and her first husband James DeBarge, 58, have a secret child. There have been claims the “secret baby” was raised by her sister Rebbie, 71, or brother Jackie, 70. “At the time they said I had a child and I kept it a secret,” said Janet Jackson. “I might never keep a child away from James. How might I keep a child away from his father? I might never do that, that’s not right.”
Then the singer opened up regarding what she’s had to listen to over the years. There were rumors that her niece Brandy was actually her daughter and that she gave her “child” to her brother Jackie. Stevanna, daughter of her brother Randy, 60, has also been mistaken for her daughter because they look so alike.
Janet Jackson also hinted at how the rumors might have started, according to People. She started taking birth control pills while filming Fame in the early 1980s. As a result, she gained weight. The multiple Grammy winner married James DeBarge in 1984 when she was 18 years old. Their year-long marriage was subsequently annulled. In the ’90s, the singer was married to René Elizondo Jr., 59. In 2012 she gave the yes word to the businessman Wissam Al Mana, 47, in 2017 their son Eissa was born. A few months later, the couple announced their separation.
The singer should reveal in the documentary that she has not given up her belief in love. But she thinks “that it is more difficult to be in the public eye and to look for love”. She added, “A healthy relationship would be nice for me in the future.”
Problems with Brother Michael Jackson
In the TV documentary, Janet Jackson also apparently talks regarding her former life in the shadow of her brother Michael. “There were times when Mike teased me and called me names. Pig, horse, bitch or cow,” Jackson said, according to the New York Post. “He laughed regarding it and I laughed too, but it hurt somewhere inside,” she said. “If someone tells you that you are too heavy, it affects you.”
When she was in front of the camera for the family sitcom “Good Times” in the late 70s, she got self-doubt: “I did ‘Good Times’ and that was the beginning of the weight problems and the way I felt himself considered.” She is “an emotional eater” and finds comfort in food when she is stressed, she explained.
A short time later, the close bond with her brother Michael is said to have broken. The 1982 premiere of “Thriller” allegedly marks the moment in the TV documentary. “That’s when everything started to change,” she said, as reported by the New York Post. “I remember really loving the ‘Thriller’ album, but for the first time in my life I felt like things were different between us, a change was happening.”
“That’s when Mike and I started going our separate ways,” said Janet Jackson. “He just wasn’t as funny as he used to be.”
Janet Jackson is set to open up regarding her ‘nipple gate’ for the first time
Justin Timberlake, 40, is said to be speaking in the new documentary regarding Janet Jackson. Their appearance together 18 years ago in the Super Bowl halftime show had consequences for both musicians – but rather negative ones for Jackson. Timberlake might now talk regarding how “Page Six” claims to have learned from production circles.
When Jackson played the concert at the halftime show in 2004, she brought Timberlake onto the stage as a surprise guest. The two ended the performance with “a mistake”: Timberlake ripped off part of Jackson’s shirt and bared her chest while singing the lyrics “I’ll have you naked by the end of this song”. His solo career took off following that, while Jackson’s suffered greatly from the incident…
