Mourning, after-effects, exhaustion… Covid-19 changed my life

The Covid-19 pandemic has confronted the population of most regions of the planet with an unprecedented situation, often a source of anxiety. It has also claimed many victims: more than 5.45 million deaths worldwide since the end of December 2019, according to a report established by AFP. But for the World Health Organization, this assessment of the pandemic might be two to three times higher than that officially recorded.

This global health crisis has had very different repercussions depending on the course. For some, seriously affected, who have lost a loved one, or caregivers overwhelmed by successive waves, nothing will ever be the same once more. We give the floor today to witnesses, whose lives have been turned upside down by the disease.

  • Julie Grasset, president of the association Empty heart 19, which helps families deal with the trauma of losing a loved one
