1,887 coronavirus infections were detected in Venezuela

Delcy Rodríguez, vice president, reported that in the last few hours a total of 1,887 new coronavirus infections were detected in Venezuela. He detailed in the official balance on Twitter that 1,877 are cases of community transmission and 10 imported.

The data reveals that Miranda is the state that has recorded the highest number of community cases in recent hours (483). The entity has active infections in 17 municipalities; followed by the entities: Caracas (470), Anzoátegui (126) and Yaracuy (117).

The official also reported the death of 6 people due to the pandemic: 1 85-year-old woman and 2 72-year-old and 27-year-old men from Caracas, 1 72-year-old man from Mérida, 1 66-year-old woman from Trujillo, and 1 woman from 56 years old from Zulia.

With the new data from this Thursday, these are the statistics of the coronavirus in the country:

– Total infections: 477,022

– Recovered patients: 454,418 (95%)

– Current active cases: 17,179

– Total deaths: 5,425

“Yesterday the World Health Organization warned that more and more people of all ages are infected with SARS-CoV-2 in the world and that the majority of hospitalized patients are not vaccinated, including children. We remind the people of the importance of getting vaccinated for everyone’s health,” he wrote on Twitter.
