The situation in Ukraine is tense, and the Russian army may launch an attack at any time. Many fear that China will also invade Taiwan at the same time. Republican U.S. Senator Tom Cotton said in an earlier interview with Fox News: “China is a bigger threat to the U.S. than Russia. For the U.S., Taiwan is much more important than Ukraine. .”

Cotton said in an interview with Fox News on the 26th, US time, that the arms, diplomatic and financial support provided by the United States to Taiwan should be at least equal to that provided to Ukraine.

Cotton sees U.S. President Joe Biden’s weak stance of appeasement and conciliation on Russia over the past year as a lesson in failure. He advocated that the United States should learn from its lessons and give Taiwan at least the equivalent of various support to Ukraine, so as to avoid a repeat of the Ukraine border crisis in the Taiwan Strait.

Democrats in the U.S. House of Representatives are working to speed up a bill that would provide Ukraine with $500 million in military aid, more than doubling the amount of military aid to the country from 2020.

Republicans do not see a real war with Russia, but see China as the main economic and military threat to the United States. Beijing’s recent test-fire of a suspected hypersonic missile has heightened Republicans’ concerns regarding the possibility of Chinese aggression.
