The extent of the combined Sunrise UPC network.It’s a small surprise, although very logical. Yallo announced on Monday a form of repositioning and above all the launch of its internet and TV offer on the coaxial network of its Sunrise UPC group. For 48 hours, he cuts prices at 14.95 francs per month for life!
“From January 25, 2022 at 1:00 a.m. to January 26, 2022 at 11:59 p.m., an exceptional introductory offer will be offered to the fastest: on www.yallo.ch, customers benefit from a limited number of Yallo Home Max Cable offers with Yallo TV at the incredible price of 14.95 francs per month for life instead of 79 francs per month (available on the Sunrise UPC cable network and within the limit available stocks)”, according to a Press release.
An offer for 80% of households
From January 27, Yallo will offer Home Max (fiber and cable) to new customers for 44 francs per month (instead of 79 francs). Depending on the connection, they will benefit from speeds of up to 10 Gigabits/sec (fiber) or 1 Gigabits/sec (cable). Yallo Mobile customers will be able to take advantage of the current promotional offer with an additional discount and will only pay 39 francs per month for life for the combined internet and TV package, according to this presentation.
By combining the fiber optic coverage of the prey Sunrise with the coaxial cable of the predator UPC, Yallo is able to offer internet at 1 Gigabit to at least 80% of Swiss households by playing on all fronts. A great argument for growth, which will strike a chord with financiers! The cheap brand will therefore have to provide insurance or risk greatly disappointing many potential customers.
Positioning and branding issue
In the meantime, the brand launched in 2005 has decided to revise its positioning on the market a little, as explained in the presentation below to be taken with some distance. Indeed, can the Sunrise and Swisscom brands be used in the same category? Until recently, for example, can’t connect huawei watch on the network of the former challenger…
In fact, Sunrise UPC has a real positioning problem from my point of view, because it probably does not seem to be able to meet some of its ambitions… Obviously, the offer announced today is one of the most skilful and to be welcomed! Too bad it is accompanied by a vast campaign. Proof once once more of indecent margins on certain products…
