The representative of the Syndicate of Acting Professions, Dr. Ashraf Zaki, was keen to resolve the controversy surrounding the movie “Ashab wa La Aziz,” and revealed the fact that the artists participating in the film, Mona Zaki and Iyad Nassar, were expelled from the syndicate.
Ashraf Zaki said in a telephone interview on the “Al-Hekaya” program with the media, Amr Adib: “Mona Zaki is not responsible for what happened, and I was surprised by the demands to write off an artist from a syndicate who performs her role brilliantly. If Mona Zaki or Iyad Nassar’s punishment, this is a crime.”
He added, “The movie is shown on the Netflix platform, and I watched it yesterday, and there is nothing rumored regarding it.
It is noteworthy that the movie “Friends and Dearest” was subjected to a major attack following it was shown on the Netflix network, and some accused it of promoting homosexuality, and some criticized Mona Zaki because of one of her scenes in the movie.
Despite the widespread criticism of the film, a number of artists and critics defended the film and Mona Zaki on their personal accounts on social networking sites.
