Thiruvananthapuram: In the wake of the expansion of Covid 19, more stringent restrictions have been imposed in Thiruvananthapuram district. The district has been included in the ‘C’ category, which has the highest prevalence of the disease. Thiruvananthapuram is the first C category district in the state.

In addition, eight districts have been included in the B category. Kollam, Thrissur, Ernakulam, Wayanad, Idukki, Palakkad, Alappuzha and Pathanamthitta districts are in the B category. The decision was taken following the Kovid review meeting held today.

Restrictions in the capital were tightened with the inclusion of C category. Full control was exercised over public events. Religious ceremonies can only be conducted online. Theaters, gyms and swimming pools should be closed. Offline classes 10, 11 and 12 should be conducted with extreme caution and the head teacher may order the school to close if more than 40 percent of the children in the school become ill. Offline classes in undergraduate and postgraduate courses are for final year students only.

PSC Exams | Kovid overlap; PSC exams and interviews postponed

Thiruvananthapuram: PSC has announced that the exams and interviews have been postponed due to the high level of Kovid. Except for the OMR examination for the post of Operator in the Kerala Water Authority, which is scheduled to be held on February 4, the examinations scheduled to be held till February 19 have been postponed.

The PSC also said that the interviews scheduled to be held across the state from February 27 to February 18 have been postponed. The commission also announced that the oral examination scheduled to be held at the Ernakulam regional office on the 27th of this month has been postponed. The PSC also said that the revised dates for the postponed exams and interviews will be announced later.
