The insurance industry of the state of Puebla, closed 2021 with a total expense of one thousand 912 million 922 thousand 216 pesos, for the payment of medical and life expenses policies, for those people who had Covid-19.
The Mexican Association of Insurance Institutions (Amis), detailed that in the case of medical expenses, 1,576 people were treated, to whom 810 million 212 thousand 144 pesos were allocated, since the average amount per beneficiary was 514 thousand 094 pesos .
With this figure, the Puebla sector ranked sixth nationally with more citizens served, below the State of Mexico, Mexico City, Jalisco, Chihuahua, and Nuevo León.
Regarding the issue of life insurance, the agency specified that families of 4,782 people who lost their lives due to the SARS-CoV-2 virus were compensated.
The global amount allocated to this type of policy in Puebla territory was one thousand 102 million 710 thousand 072 pesos, since each family was granted an average of 230 thousand 596 pesos.
With this data, Puebla ranked seventh with more compensation, being surpassed only by Guanajuato, State of Mexico, Mexico City, Jalisco, Nuevo León, and Veracruz.
Amis announced that seven out of 10 cases of Covid in insured people occur in men, this sector being the most expensive for the insurance industry.
