Qatar Airways responds to Airbus with pictures of damage to two A350 planes

Qatar Airways took the dispute with the European airline, Airbus, to social media, when it posted video clips of scars on the roofs of grounded A350 planes. The company says these scars raise serious and legitimate safety concerns.
There has been an escalating dispute between the two sides for months over the corrosion of the paint and lightning protection layer on passenger planes, which the plane manufacturer says are defects that occurred prematurely but of no value in terms of safety.
Qatar Airways responded, on Friday, by publishing the first official photos of the planes stopped by the regulator in Qatar, following Airbus accused the state-owned company of inciting the dispute in order to obtain compensation.
The dispute led to the grounding of 21 of the 53 A350 aircraft operated by the Qatar Airways, which casts a shadow over the company’s preparations for the FIFA World Cup organized by Qatar at the end of this year.
In a case filed in a London court, Qatar is seeking damages of more than $600 million for stopping the flights, and Airbus responded Thursday by expanding the dispute by canceling a separate Qatari request for 50 A321neo planes, giving this an image of the dispute as a more contractual dispute. which is related to safety.
The airline showed video footage that appeared to show surface damage to two Airbus A350s, among the planes that the Qatar regulator had prevented from taking off.
The video posted by Qatar Airways shows defects in the paint layer as well as corrosion in the layer below the surface of the lightning protection layer.
The images once more show the same damage to aircraft of the same model, which was published exclusively by Archyde.com last November as part of an investigation that shows that five other airlines have recorded damage to the roofs of the A350 aircraft since 2016, long before the outbreak of the dispute between Qatar. and Airbus.
