“A difficult time”: Alec Baldwin reflects on the drama of “Rust”

At the time of the tragedy, on a ranch in Santa Fe (New Mexico), Alec Baldwin was working on a scene with cinematographer Halyna Hutchins. The actor maintains that he never pressed the trigger of the revolver when the shot went off, saying he was content to cock the hammer. And he said in a television interview that he had “no idea” how a live bullet might have gotten onto the film set and “got into the gun”, which he had been told was harmless.

The American police in charge of the investigation were authorized to seize the mobile phone of the actor. A warrant issued in mid-December states that “there may be evidence in the phone” relating to this case, such as messages or e-mails sent or received by Alec Baldwin concerning the production of Rust. No arrests have been made to date in this case, but criminal proceedings are not excluded in the event that responsibilities are established, the services of the Santa Fe prosecutor pointed out shortly following the tragedy.
