| Naomi Osaka out of Australian Open

Melbourne: Naomi Osaka, the reigning women’s champion at the Australian Open, has been eliminated.

Amanda Anisimova of the United States defeated Osaka in the third round. The score was 4-6, 6-3, 7-6. Naomi won the first set, but Amanda won the next two sets. In the fourth round, Amanda will face world number one Ashley Barty. In another match, No. 1 seed Ashley Barty of Australia advanced to the fourth round following defeating Camilla Giorgi of Italy 6-2, 6-3. In the men’s singles, Rafael Nadal, Alexander Swarovski, Shapovalov and Adrian Mannarino advanced to the next round.

In the mixed doubles today, India’s Rohan Bopanna and Croatia’s Daria Jurak will face Lukmina Kishenok and Andre Golubev. The match will be played at 10.35 am.
