National: Chambly surprises the Red Star, Créteil raises its head

The 19th day of National was marked by the big blow of Chambly victorious in the almost derby at Red Star (2-1). Créteil remains relegated (16th), but returns to three points behind Red Star (14th) and Chambly (15th) thanks to its success at Saint-Brieuc (1-0).

The year 2022 starts very badly for the Red Star which continues to sink. After his defeat once morest Laval 15 days ago (1-2), Habib Beye’s players conceded a second straight defeat at the Bauer stadium in the game of fear once morest Chambly (1-2). The Oise team had not won since October 22 (2 draws, 5 defeats). Chambly joins the Red Star in 14th place. There is urgency for the Saint-Ouen club which aspired to find the L2, but which will already have to save its place in National. The sanction of an off-season not necessarily well managed and a mixed recruitment. As often this season, the Red Star alternated the very good with this jewel on the free kick of the equalizer of Owen Maës (60th) and a beautiful awakening in the second half. But on a free kick and a ball badly negotiated by Paul Charruau, Axel Dauchy had quickly opened the scoring (5th), then Johanne Akassou placed a victorious header (65th) just following the equalizer from Maës. For his return to goal, Martin Sourzac, the former Nancy goalkeeper (14 L2 games last season) who had a series of problems with Chambly (head trauma, knee, Covid) performed a solid performance. The match was tense at times and resulted in a small scuffle at the end of the first half between players from both teams.

In an important game for the maintenance, Creteil won a valuable success at Saint-Brieuc (1-0). After the opener signed Abdelmalek Mokdad, his first goal this season in National (48th), Riffi Mandanda saved his team several times. He notably diverted a penalty (78th). It’s the first away win of the season for Manu Da Costa’s side.

A fortnight ago, Geoffrey Durbant, shunned in the offseason by the Red Star, scored one of the two goals in Laval’s victory (2-1). This Friday, it was Johanne Akassou who remembered the good memories of the Audonian decision-makers. Not retained in June by the Red Star following a season in National (19 games, 4 goals) where Vincent Bordot did not always trust him, Akassou celebrated his return to the Bauer stadium with a goal, his second with Chambly where he signed in early October. In addition to being decisive, the 25-year-old striker revealed at Versailles showed a lot of heart and generosity, making many runs to hinder the defense raises. A big performance in the form of revenge.

This is only Chambly’s second victory once morest Red Star in its history. The first dated back to November 28, 2014 (1-0). On April 25, 2015, Chambly was crushed by Red Star 8-0 at the Bauer stadium. A trauma now erased.
