Rwanda: Mike Hilary and Jackson Mayanja announced at AS Kigali

After the dismissal of coach Eric Nshimiyimana, AS Kigali is considering signing Ugandan coaches Mike Hilary and Jackson Mayanja to lead the team to victory. According to Swift Sports, managers and technicians have already reached an agreement. The signing might be official this week.

The duo Mike Hilary and Jackson Mayanja have agreed to work together on the side of Nyamirambo for the next two years. Speaking to Swift Sports, Mayanja said he is proud to work in the Rwandan team and especially alongside Hilary. “We have reached an agreement with AS Kigali and we are delighted to work with Mike Mutebi. This is a great opportunity for us to work together, Mike is my boss and I can’t wait to start working at AS Kigali,” he hinted.

Mayanja is a former Uganda national team player. He also played for KCCA FC, for Al Masry in Egypt and for Espérance de Tunis in Tunisia. As a coach, he managed KCCA, Uganda Revenue Authority (URA), Vipers SC and Simba in Tanzania. As for Mike Hilary, he too managed KCCA FC for five seasons. He helped the club win 3 league titles, 2 Uganda cups, 4 Supers cups and 1 CECAFA club cup, making him the most successful manager in the history of the club. He also served at Maroons FC and SC Villa.
