AccraAt least 17 people have been killed following a two-wheeler collided with a truck carrying explosives in the West African country of Ghana. 59 people were injured in the accident. Of these, 42 are in critical condition, officials said. The injured have been admitted to various hospitals.

The bomber struck shortly following noon in the western part of Bogoso district. Hundreds of buildings were destroyed in the blast, official sources said.
Numerous explosions have been reported in Ghana in recent years following a gas leak. In 2017, three people were killed when a tanker truck carrying natural gas caught fire in Accra. In 2015, 150 people were killed when a petrol pump caught fire.
