43,000 euros in donations for a firefighter – the victim of the amok thanks his colleagues – BZ Berlin

He still fights the pain every day: firefighter René S. was one of the seriously injured victims following an Islamist drove amok in August 2020 on the city highway.

At that time, six people were injured. The control center employee was rammed from behind by the assassin on his motorcycle and was taken to the hospital with serious injuries to his head and spine.

Now S. speaks up for the first time in the fire department magazine “333er” – to thank all colleagues. “You not only opened your hearts to me, but also your wallets, this money enables us to have our terraced house converted and expanded to make it suitable for the disabled,” he writes.

René S.: “Measured at the beginning, the progress that I am making is very small and the doctors always say that I have to be patient. Unfortunately, that’s not my forte.”
