A renowned Quilmeño lawyer, Omar Luis “El Turco” Daer, 66 years old, was transferred last night to the Municipal Hospital of Quilmes where entered with a shot to the throat. It is being investigated whether it was a suicide attempt.
Shortly following, during the early hours, he was referred to the El Cruce high-complexity hospital, in Florencio Varela, where he is currently hospitalized.
The incident occurred at his home located in Barrio Parque, Bernal, where he was with his wife, María Cecilia Attolini. As it turned out, the couple would have argued on the ground floor and then the lawyer would have gone up to the matrimonial room, where he would have shot himself. After hearing the gunshot, the woman called 911.
The lawyer is a member of the Justicialist Party and has extensive experience in the field of Justice. But nevertheless, His profile gained notoriety for having been a lawyer for former President Carlos Menem.
Daer was also president of the Argentine Club of Quilmes and he is also the father of the partner of the current mayor of Quilmes, Mayra Mendoza.
