Britney Spears
A terribly divided family
Britney Spears is currently at loggerheads with her family. What exactly she accuses them of and what mother, father and sister say regarding it.
For Britney Spears (40), the end of her father’s guardianship was a liberation, not only from the restrictions, but also from her family. A lot seems to have accumulated over the long period of time. Spears lives out her new freedom by venting her anger once morest her mother, sister and father unfiltered and publicly.
Lynne Spears
In her last Instagram post it was mother Lynne Spears (66) on the collar. Britney speaks of feeling like a ghost in her own family. Her sister is also said to have been preferred.
The two are said to have been close in the early noughties. Britney bought her mother a million dollar estate in Kentwood and begged her to break up with her tyrannical father. When the time came in 2002, she told People that it was “the best thing that ever happened to the family.” On Instagram, however, she now also reminds that Lynne Spears was “broken than everyone else” at the time. She accuses her mother of being so full of painkillers following separating from her husband “that she might hardly communicate”.
These are not the first allegations of this kind by the singer once morest her mother. In a post published in early November 2021, Britney wrote that even her mother is said to have had the idea for guardianship. “She secretly ruined my life,” Britney wrote in the post, which she later deleted. “You know exactly what you did.”
Lynne Spears’ role throughout Britney’s career has been contradictory. Years ago, she admitted in interviews that she had distanced herself from her daughter. The “New Yorker” she had said in July 2021 on the subject of guardianship that she did not know what to think. There is a lot of worry and pain involved. In public, however, she had also shown herself to be a supporter of the #FreeBritney movement. She is also said to have fought for months to have her ex-husband withdraw guardianship.
Jamie Spears
Why Lynne left her ex-husband Jamie Spears (69) sole guardianship for Britney in the first place is still one of the biggest questions. Even the marriage of the two should have been an eternal up and down. Lynne accused Jamie of cheating on her and his drinking was out of control.
The speculation the public has regarding Jamie and Britney Spears’ father-daughter connection might fill books. In fact, the relationship between the two has always been strained, according to Jamie’s testimony in court in 2019. According to the New Yorker report, Britney Spears did not agree from the start that her father was legally allowed to take control of her life.
Jacqueline Butcher, a close family friend, says in the article that Jamie bullied and blackmailed Britney. His leverage: spending time with her children. Speaking publicly in court for the first time in 2021 regarding her torment over 13 years of guardianship, she reported: “He loved the control he had over me 100,000 percent” and called the guardianship abusive. Jamie Spears said through his lawyer: “He’s sorry to see his daughter suffer with so much pain.”
Jamie Lynn Spears
The relationship with Britney’s sister Jamie Lynn Spears (30) was also destroyed by the guardianship. Their dispute is currently being played out publicly via interviews and Instagram. Jamie Lynn recently published his own book, Things I Should Have Said. She also reports regarding Britney – among other things, that Britney is said to have locked herself and her in a room with a knife a few years ago.
Spears then asked on Twitter if her sister wanted to sell “a book at my expense”. She later referred to them as “scum”. According to her version, Jamie Lynn is said to have tried to clarify the matter privately. But you didn’t reach Britney anymore. “This is embarrassing and needs to stop. Love you,” Jamie Lynn is said to have said to her sister in her Instagram story.
In Britney’s latest post, it doesn’t sound like those words caught on. “I should have slapped you both in your damn faces,” Britney wrote of her past with her mother and sister. Jamie Lynn Spears is said to have received a letter from the lawyer in the meantime: Britney’s lawyer Mathew Rosengart shares her according to “Page Six”.that Britney would stop being bullied so her sister might sell more books.
Bryan Spears
Britney’s brother Bryan (44) seems to have managed to stay out of the whole thing as much as possible. In a podcast he said understandingly in July 2020 to the #FreeBritney movement. It’s frustrating when someone tells you what to do – “regardless of whether they come in peace to help or with an attitude”. He also said back then that guardianship was “a big thing” in the Spears family – and Britney had always wanted to end it.
