Héctor Ventura, president of the Control Commission, announced that his working group will take pertinent actions to investigate the spill of approximately 6,000 barrels of oil in the Ventanilla Sea, which caused serious damage to the environment.
The legislator for Fuerza Popular indicated that it would be an “irreversible damage”, for which, from his working group, he will initiate the respective investigations to determine who is responsible, whether they are public officials or representatives of the companies involved, in reference to Repsol, the entity that owns the La Pampilla refinery.
“In the Oversight Commission we just have to watch over the interests of the country. In that sense, officials, servers and those we deem appropriate, and according to the prerogatives we have, must be summoned to clarify the facts,” Ventura told the press.
The parliamentarian’s statements were given following the session to which Six people involved in the investigations that are being carried out due to the unofficial meetings that were held in the house on the Sarratea passage in Breña were summoned.. Five of them did not attend.
