The strike in the sector reaches all branches.

The 24-hour strike called by the Superior Railway Staff Union (UPSF) for this Thursday on all medium and long-distance train lines was without effect. It was lifted following a meeting between the president of Trenes Argentinos, Martin Marinucci, and union representatives.

As confirmed to GO News from Trenes Argentinos, the head of the state company in charge of managing and operating the railway network and the union leaders who requested a new review of the salary schedule held a meeting in which they promised “to form a negotiating table”. “The guild promised not to stop and the service will be provided normally”, remarked the sources.

The agreement signed at that meeting highlights that “both parties are obliged to form a negotiating table and that the union will inform the company of the items to be discussed that are beneficial for the workers that the union represents. The parties undertake to maintain social peace”.

The measure of force was going to affect to the Sarmiento, Roca, San Martín, Mitre, Belgrano Sur and Tren de la Costa lines; as well as long-distance and regional services, and Belgrano Cargas y Logística SA

UPFS had summoned him “As a consequence of the successive unresolved proposals and having exhausted the negotiations with the companies SOFSE and BCYL”.

The demands of the guild are for “labour discrimination, by virtue of the shortcomings or absences of remuneration for seniority, payment of the daily snack, percentage of the university and tertiary degree, the non-recognition of the rights and benefits to the affiliates”.

The union also denounced situations such as “workers belonging to other union associations, compulsory discounts disguised under the concept of solidarity contribution by the company SOFSE and unfair practice of SOFSE company officials”.

In addition, he complained regarding “refusal to sign a collective bargaining agreement by companies with UPFS”. All these proposals will now be analyzed at the negotiation table that the parties have agreed to establish.
