Gas: Chariot announces a “successful” drilling campaign in Morocco

Chariot Oil & Gaz, the oil company operating in Morocco, announced on January 18 that it had completed its drilling campaign of the Anchois-2 well and the related technical operations, as well as the inspection activities of the Anchois-1 discovery, on the Lixus permit, located off Larache.

Anchovies 1, the original discovery well drilled in 2009, has been located and the wellhead has been inspected, prepared and successfully coupled to the Stena Don platform, confirming its potential viability as a future producing well, said Cart.

“To maintain efficiency, it was decided not to take a Sand A gas sample from the Anchois-1 well as gas samples were successfully obtained from the previously drilled Anchois-2 well,” adds the society. This will complete the operations in the Anchois 1 well.

As for operations on the Anchois 2 well, they have already been suspended “in a safe and efficient manner” for potential completion as a production well in future development”, explains the company. This well has made it possible to intersect an interval of gas 100 m long”.

Extensive data recovered from the multiple gas discoveries in the Anchois-2 well, including from a comprehensive program of underground formation testing, which recovered twelve gas samples from seven gas-bearing reservoirs, which are currently en route to the lab for detailed analysis,” the company said.
