Authorities announce increase in isolation to 7 days for confirmed cases of coronavirus

New measures were advanced by the health authorities in the framework of the new data that have been known and the increase in infections triggered, mainly, by the presence of the Omicron variant in community transmission in our country.

8,904 new infections: Minsal raises positivity in Chile to 9.39% following new balance

The Ministry of Health delivered this Monday a new balance of the pandemic in Chile, informing 8,904 new infections in the country.

According to the portfolio, the figures corresponded to the performance of 87,568 tests throughout the country, giving a national positivity of 9.39%.

In the case of Metropolitan region, the rate of positive cases is 9.15%.

The variation of new confirmed cases at the national level is 132% and 294% for the comparison of seven and 14 days, respectively. Meanwhile, no region decreases its new cases in the last seven and 14 days.

Regarding the deaths, according to the information provided by the DEIS, In the last 24 hours, 32 deaths were registered due to causes associated with COVID-19. The total number of deceased amounts to 39,426 in the country.

To date, 417 people are hospitalized in Intensive Care Units, of which 340 are supported by mechanical ventilation. In relation to the Integrated Health Network, there are a total of 312 critical beds available for the patient who requires it, regardless of the region where they are located.
