Registration of applicants to lead the Pemex union begins Amid reports of irregularities and loaded data, this Monday the process of registering candidates for the General Secretariat of the Pemex Union began. Oil Workers of the Mexican Republic (STPRM), who intend to participate in the election to be held next Monday, January 31.
Several of the candidates have denounced that the electoral process is controlled by the group close to the former oil leader Carlos Romero Deschamps, in order to impose on the former treasurer Ricardo Aldana, so they require the Secretary of Labor and Social Welfare that transparency and respect for the vote of all unionized workers of Mexican oil.
This Monday, contingents of oil workers demonstrate at various points in the country’s capital, such as the Monument to the Revolution and outside the STPRM headquarters to support various candidates and demand guarantees for a democratic contest.

The registration of those interested in competing in this contest is done at the union offices in Mexico City, located on Zaragoza Street, in the Guerrero neighborhood.
The registration of applicants will be on January 17, 18 and 19; the campaigns will take place from January 21 to 29; on January 30 there will be an electoral ban and the following day the election will be held by electronic means, the result of which will be known on the night of January 31.
