Un foot call for a coronation at the end of February? As spotted here is, the leading actress of French cinema, Marion Cotillard, made a special appeal to members of the César Academy on Sunday January 16 on Instagram, asking them to watch the film she recently produced, Bigger than us. This documentary directed by Flore Vasseur, which was released in theaters last September, focuses on the initiatives of several young people from different countries in terms of human rights, the climate, and the reception of refugees in particular.
“Dear members of the César Academy, I invite you to watch it, and discover these wonderful humans who dedicate their lives to awakening us and making our lives better,” calls the Oscar-winning actress for her role in The kid, in 2007. “It was a difficult year for cinema in general, and documentaries (which nobody expected) in particular! So it is important for us to continue to highlight our film! So if you feel like it, support us by making a César nomination possible! Thanks in advance ! added Marion Cotillard.
This boost is not insignificant since the documentary is eligible in multiple categories for the Césars such as those for best film, best documentary, best first film, best director, best editing, best music, the best picture and the best sound. Bigger than us therefore aspires more than ever to be massively rewarded during the 47th César du cinema ceremony, which will take place at the Olympia on February 25, 2022.
