Cross-platform gaming support is now an option that many gamers have been waiting for. Although unfortunately this is not the norm, it is true that an increasing number of games now support cross-platform play. Microsoft is undoubtedly the current video game company most committed to this type of cross-play, and if you don’t believe me, here is a list of all the games with cross-platform play.
You would expect a big budget game like Dying Light 2: Stay Humen to be grounded in cross-play values. This is not an old project and foreign to this emerging trend. I am therefore very surprised that Techland has decided not to embark on this adventure.
Crossplay is not being considered for Dying Light 2 at this time.
Of course, that doesn’t mean there never will be. In fact, the studio is not closing the door on the idea of implementing it at a later date. Confirmation of the “non-arrival” of crossplay at launch was provided by Tymon Smektala during a recent live interview with MPS1st.
Mr. Smektala is currently a lead designer at Techland, and he answered the question with something like, “No, not at the moment. It will not be available. It also closed the door to cross-platform play at launch, meaning you won’t be able to play with Xbox One users if you’re playing on Xbox X or S Series. Fortunately, that will come later:
This won’t be possible at launch, but we’re working to make it possible following launch.
We know that Dying Light 2: Stay Human will be supported for around 5 years, so I wouldn’t rule anything out yet. All we can wish for Techland is that their second game is as good as the first, I can’t wait to play it.
