US authorities said that Actor Alec Baldwin A Santa City District Court order has not been implemented in a case involving the accidental killing of a cameraman while filming “Rust” was not carried out.
Nearly a month following the justice of the peace approved a search warrant for Alec Baldwin’s cell phone, Baldwin has yet to comply with the order issued as part of the investigation into the case.
“To date, the cell phone has not been handed over to the authorities,” the Santa County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement Thursday.
The police chief of Santa Fe, New Mexico, had requested that Baldwin provide his phone so that the police might see the data stored in it.
On December 16, the Santa Fe court granted this request, and required Baldwin to provide data, including photos, videos, text messages, social media accounts, and communications history.
“Any suggestion that I am not complying with requests, orders or confiscation warrants regarding my phone is nonsense and a lie,” the actor said in a video posted to Instagram.
However, he also admitted that he wanted the police to determine what they needed before handing the device over, complaining “they can’t go through your phone and take your pictures or love letters to your wife or what you have”.
The search command locates text messages, photos, videos, calls, or anything else related to the movie.
The American actor confirmed that he is cooperating in the investigation, regarding a month following giving the police permission to confiscate his mobile phone.
He explained that the authorities in New Mexico, where the tragedy occurred last October, are working in coordination with their counterparts in New York State, where he lives, and that the procedures for confiscating the phone take a long time.
“Of course, we’ll stick to a thousand percent of all of that,” the actor added. “We totally agree with that.”
On December 16, the police in charge of the investigation obtained permission to confiscate the mobile phone of the low-budget Western movie star “Rust” and its producer, actor Alec Baldwin, who fired the fatal bullet from a pistol he was training to use in one of the scenes.
Baldwin was rehearsing a scene with director of photography Helena Hutchins when the tragedy occurred on October 21 on a farm in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
