The new schedule for the American Critics’ Choice Awards ceremony, in which the Korean drama ‘Squid Game’ was nominated in three categories, has been confirmed.
The Critics’ Choice Association (CCA), made up of American broadcast and film critics, has decided to hold the 27th Annual Awards Ceremony in Los Angeles (LA) on March 13, Deadline, a film specialized media, reported on the 13th.
Previously, the association canceled the award ceremony scheduled for the 9th of this month due to the spread of COVID-19 omicron mutation, and announced a new schedule on the same day.
The association said in a statement that it had considered an online event, but decided to hold a face-to-face event in March with safety in mind.
At this year’s awards ceremony, ‘Squid Game’ was nominated for Best Drama Series and Best Foreign Language Series, and Lee Jung-jae, who played the main character Ki-hoon, was nominated for Best Actor in a Drama Series, drawing attention.
However, Deadline said that the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) awards ceremony, the largest film festival in the UK, is held on the same day, and confusion is expected because the nominees for the two awards overlap significantly, and both sides are seeking a solution.
