An Asiana aircraft, which was tied up at Almaty International Airport in Kazakhstan following bloody anti-government protests, is scheduled to arrive in South Korea tonight from the local airport.
The airliner departed from Incheon on the 5th and arrived in Almaty, but was held there for 8 days as airport operations were suspended due to a large-scale protest in the area.
A total of 47 people were on board this flight, including 39 passengers and 8 crew members.
Except for 4 family members of the Kazakhstan embassy in Korea, 43 are Korean citizens.
Three out of seven passengers who entered Almaty on the 5th and evacuated to a hotel in the city to avoid the chaos caused by the protests also boarded the return flight.
They are scheduled to arrive at Incheon International Airport around 9:50 pm (Korean time).

At that time, the crew and 77 passengers who landed at Almaty Airport were evacuated to a fire fighting facility in the airport, and an Asiana aircraft was also moored at the airport.
Flight attendants and passengers have stayed in hotels and homes in the city, and only those who wish to return to their home country when the Almaty Airport resumed operation from midnight on the 13th following peacekeeping forces suppressed the protests.
Since airport operations resumed on this day, flight operations are proceeding smoothly, with Astana Airlines’ aircraft from Turkey landing before Asiana aircraft.
