When purchasing a new vehicle, price, design, motorization and consumption are undoubtedly the main criteria that make a motorist choose this or that model. Reliability too even if, quite often, it is by word of mouth that it is played out. Everyone has in their assets an acquaintance that has had the worst problems with one car and another that is thrilled with the same model.
How, then, do you know which vehicle is reliable and which is not? This is the question that Test-Achats asked itself. The consumer association Test surveyed more than 52,000 vehicle owners – (60,000) that left the factory between 6 months and 10 years before the survey to find out what problems they had with their vehicle. “The most frequent problems (17% of cases) affect electrical functions such as the battery, headlights, windows and central locking, can we read in their survey. Then come the braking (13%) and engine (combustion) problems. “
