HDI SEGUROS opens a new corporate campus in Mexico

Today, taking sustainable actions is a task that corresponds to everyone. For large industries, integrating strategies with environmental responsibility is a task that commits investment, infrastructure and technology in the face of a common good: the care of our planet.

Aware of this, HDI Seguros – the fifth most important insurer in the automobile industry according to the Mexican Association of Insurance Institutions (AMIS) – inaugurated a new corporate campus with a view to strengthening its operation and continuing to promote its positioning at the national level. .

This campus represents an investment of 22.5 million dollars for the insurer. It is built on an area of 42,687 m2 and the project is divided into two phases: the first, recently concluded, with a service building, one for operations -with capacity for 850 collaborators- and another main one, which cover an area of 23,385 m2. The second phase includes an additional operations building for 750 people.

“For HDI Seguros, welcoming the future is putting forward a long-term vision, asking ourselves what the working formula should be during the following years. Our operation is national with 56 offices, a Solutions center in Mexico City and 20 service centers (Auto-Pronto) throughout the territory, which allows us to ask ourselves how we will be interacting in the coming years. Investing 22.5 million dollars in this campus is a sign of the great confidence that Grupo Talanx and HDI International have in HDI SEGUROS Mexico and in the growth potential of the country ”, expressed Juan Ignacio González Gómez, CEO of HDI Seguros, in an interview with Forbes Mexico.

The HDI SEGUROS corporate campus was built under four guidelines:

  • Sustainability: EDGE certification guarantees savings in water and electricity thanks to efficient materials, which reduces the emission of 108 tons of CO2 per year.
  • Horizontality: built as a campus with areas to promote the well-being of employees, such as a gym, lactation room, auditorium, dining room and 4,500 m2 of green areas.
  • Smart spaces: to promote better collaboration with specialized areas for different activities and thinking regarding future growth.
  • Digital: use of the highest technology to speed up response times and provide a focus on the implementation of new ideas that facilitate daily operation.

The general director of HDI SEGUROS pointed out that this new campus is designed to offer smart spaces for the next 25 years in the face of a much more digitized world. “The space is designed to meet the diverse needs of the collaborators, so that collaborative work boosts their creativity. More than a typical corporate building, this campus is built like a university to allow the innovation that distinguishes us to continue ”.

Juan Ignacio González Gómez, CEO of HDI Seguros México.

The new HDI Seguros campus reduces electricity consumption by 20% with LED lighting, high-efficiency air conditioners, lighting controls and more. In addition, it reduces the use of water by 20% with ecological toilets and manners, dry urinals and low consumption green areas, and has 20% energy savings due to the use of efficient materials, such as carpets, glass, waterproofing, wall coverings, paintings, among others.

Digital integration, at the forefront of automotive safety.

According to Juan Ignacio González, “we are a company focused mainly on Cars and this has allowed us to climb from ranking 12 to 5 and today we are one of the most important insurers in Mexico in this segment. We have also strengthened our operation in the Damage business (home, business and transportation insurance), with growth rates of over 29% and we will continue working to provide value-added products. The trust that our agents and policyholders have given us since HDI arrived in Mexico in 2009, coupled with the great work of our collaborators, has been essential to have sustained growth and to be a leading company ”.

In addition, HDI Seguros is rated AAA by S&P, the highest in the country and which it has endorsed for seven consecutive years. This represents the financial strength of the organization and that it is a strategic subsidiary for Grupo Talanx’s Latin American operation.

Innovation and digital transformation are two key elements for the insurer in its products and services, and proof of this are the following solutions:

HDI iDriving: a comprehensive security solution for auto insurance, which allows the company to send assistance services and an adjuster if the insured has had a severe crash and cannot contact us, in addition to providing information to improve their driving habits and reward them for it, thanks to a TAG and the HDI iDriving application.

This app allows drivers to know their good and bad driving practices in order to prevent accidents and help them improve their driving. “Users who register improvement have the opportunity to accumulate points and exchange them for an incentive. We are the first company in Mexico to launch this type of car insurance product, leaving the traditional service scheme to be proactive in caring for our policyholders ”, added the manager.

Digital adjuster: solution that allows policyholders to report a minor auto incident through their cell phone and without the need to have a face-to-face adjuster. With this tool, the client sends photographs of the damage to his vehicle so that company personnel can send him their assessment in less than two hours. HDI was the first insurer to launch this service in the country.

HDI is part of Talanx, the third largest insurance group in Germany and one of the five largest in Europe. Since its arrival in Mexico in 2009, HDI SEGUROS has been one of the fastest growing insurers nationwide, multiplying its premiums by 8 and its number of agents by 6, quadrupling its workforce and tripling its offices and service centers in the country. country.
