Parenthesis The registration of cédulas ends
Towards midnight tomorrow, January 13, the registration of signatures to vote for the Congress of the Republic ends, a contest that will be held two months later. The process must be done by those who have never voted or by people who have changed their place of residence. The ways that the Registrar’s Office has enabled to register are different points at the national level, the headquarters of the entity, the website and its Congress Infovoters application. It is worth noting that the registration to vote for the Presidency of the Republic will not close yet.
Alexander Char
One of those who entered the race later is the former mayor of Barranquilla. Char is part of a political house close to Cambio Radical, and his family has moved to various positions in the State. He registered under Country of opportunities and is part of Equipo por Colombia, from which he says he does not want alliances with Óscar I. Zuluaga. His idea is to work for the union of the country, and for that he has chosen to reach people through networks.
Alejandro Gaviria
The former minister comes from being rector of the Universidad de los Andes, and although that position was highly academic, in debates he has said that the government positions he has held make him aware of what the country needs. Although last year there was talk of an endorsement by the Liberal Party, he decided to go for signatures under the significant group Colombia Has a Future. Gaviria stands out as a defender of individual freedoms.
Federico Gutierrez
There is no greater trace of “Fico” in political parties, however, he shares ideas with some of his opponents, for that reason he joined Equipo por Colombia. This coalition will go to a consultation on March 13 with Char and the other members. According to the Great Poll in which EL COLOMBIANO and other media participated, Gutiérrez and Petro were the first to vote in Antioquia, with 14%.
Juan Carlos Echeverry
This newspaper learned that Echeverry and Gaviria applied a similar strategy when collecting signatures: they cared a lot regarding the quality of each one, more than the volume, that is why several of them passed very cleanly. The bet that this former minister has is to isolate himself from traditional parties, since he believes that people are tired of them. His proposals touch on various economic issues, a sector in which he has experience.
Luis Perez
For Professor Carlos Builes, it is interesting that Pérez has achieved so many signatures, since he has not been as active as “Fico”, speaking of Antioqueños. At the end of 2021, this former governor caused a stir due to his proximity to the Historical Pact led by Gustavo Petro. While he had some once morest him, others came out to support him. His signatures were presented by Colombia think big, and now he only thinks regarding continuing his campaign.
Rodolfo Hernandez
Called the “lone ranger”, Hernández has given a clear message to his followers: he is once morest everything he considers corruption, despite the fact that in his land, Santander, there is talk of some irregularities in his management as local president. With his League of anti-corruption rulers, he has visited various areas of the country, and has not been entirely indifferent to either Uribe or Petro, although he is not close to any party.
