Since a few weeks, Hector Obalk is back on stage in Paris in two theaters (the Théâtre de l’Atelier and the 13e Art). Basically, it is very learned what he says, but in the form, it is not“, confides this spectator at the end of the show, visibly delighted. Hector Olbak, recognized critic, knows what he is talking regarding, but no question here of a lecture and boring. It is in the tone of humor that he wanted to decipher these major works in the history of painting, from the Italian primitives to Impressionism, from Giotto to Yves Klein.

On stage, Hector Olbak is accompanied by musicians and moves in front of a huge high-resolution screen, revealing breathtaking details of the works with commentary. It is not one, but two shows that he offers in two Parisian theaters. The first to Atelier Theater deals with works by Giotto, Van Eyck, Raphaël, Michelangelo, Vélasquez, Rembrandt, Fragonard, Ingres or even Monet.

The second, at 13th Art Place d’Italie, deciphers famous paintings by Angelico, Michelangelo, Correggio, Bronzino, Caravaggio, Ruisdael, Vermeer, Watteau, Chardin or even Cézanne, and takes a look at contemporary art. Two totally different shows as much by the images as by the words specifies the author.
