Wealthy investors are gradually restructuring their portfolios.

Zurich, Frankfurt Not only the leading central bankers are keeping an eye on the significantly stronger inflation and its causes. Wealthy investors are also currently discussing intensively with their asset managers how inflation is likely to continue to weigh on their portfolios.

More and more of these customers, who often fear for their property, are shifting their priorities even more towards security, observing asset managers and family offices, with whom the Handelsblatt spoke. However, they recommend their customers not to give up their global mix. Instead, depending on their risk appetite, they should hold more liquidity – as a buffer or to buy more.

Stefan Freytag, head of the Deutsche Oppenheim Family Office (Deutsche Oppenheim FO) at Deutsche Bank, observes that two issues are currently particularly burdensome for investors: “In addition to the persistent pandemic, the current surprisingly high inflation.”
