National COE pronounced this Monday on the face-to-face return to classes in the face of the epidemiological situation in the country and the new resolutions in the face of the rise in infections in Ecuador. At the press conference, the issue of the vaccination certificate in land transport was also mentioned.

The Minister of Education, María Brown, pointed out that on early childhood education services, for students aged 3 and 4 years or under regulated by the Ministry of Education, establishments must abide by the following provisions:

The fiscal establishments will suspend the service to guarantee that their teachers can access the third dose, from January 10 to 16. In other words, this provision that was adopted for fiscal establishments at other educational levels is ratified or expanded.

Private, fiscal, and municipal establishments may suspend services and recover them at the end of the school year or agree with families to provide support from a distance. That is, it is not necessarily virtual modality. If not, it is recommended to give the little ones playful activities so that they can work on them with their parents or recommendations that educators can make.

On Monday, January 17, 2022, the services will be resumed in person in reduced capacity and on a voluntary basis for the approved institutions that offer these services. These institutions must reduce the capacity to 50%, for example, if there is a capacity for 100, only 50 children can go, respecting distance and biosecurity regulations.

Regarding home modalities of Education, it will be suspended from January 10 to 23. This is because some educators present covid pictures.

During this week, the third-dose vaccination process began for all personnel of educational institutions.

On request for a vaccination card in land transport, for children from 5 to 11 years 11 months that starts from January 17, they will only be required to have one dose.
