The barge stuck at the Pont des Arches has been towed!

At around noon, the barge which was embedded on the Pont des Arches in Liège might be towed, there were no injuries and the material damage would be minimal. As the navigation police confirmed to us, this barge, a pusher boat, which crashed into the Arches bridge on Monday morning, was in bad shape.

Considering the current and the level of the Meuse, the boat had deviated from its path before crashing into one of the piers of the bridge. Fortunately, the boat was empty and the impact was not significant. The navigation police and firefighters intervened, in a very short time the boat was towed.
