Marc Coucke invests 20 million euros in a company

EnergyVision, founded in 2014, is active in Belgium, Morocco and China. The group claims to deploy more than 400,000 solar panels per year, for a consolidated turnover exceeding 100 million euros in 2021.

The company installs the solar panels for free “in companies that do not need to invest or in families who cannot invest themselves,” says its founder and CEO Maarten Michielssens. The electricity is then sold “at a fixed low price”.

EnergyVision is present in Brussels under the name Brusol and intends to open a new subsidiary to continue its activity in the three regions.

Since its creation, the group has been exclusively owned by its founders, Maarten Michielssens, Hassan Mourhit and Koen Decourt. The capital increase announced on Monday is the starting signal for additional investments and jobs in the course of 2022, with in particular a vast project to install charging stations for electric vehicles.

“I am particularly drawn to the story of EnergyVision. They are developing rapidly, they focus a lot on social added value, they have a solid business model, the team has great dynamism, so they even developed in 2021 despite a decline in their sector of more than 60% in Flanders and more than 80% in Brussels, “said Marc Coucke.

Since 2014 and the sale of his pharmaceutical company Omega Pharma, Marc Coucke has mainly invested in certain areas: pharmacy, leisure and tourism as well as sustainable businesses. In the latter sector, Coucke has notably already invested in Ekopak, which works on water purification, and in the manufacturer of electric buses Ebusco.
