The 15th Hokkien Original Song Singer Contest ended
15th Anniversary Golden Melody “Exhibition” Charm
Xiamen DailyNews (Reporter Lin Luran) Last Saturday night, the 15th Hokkien Original Song Singer Contest Street Music Season ended in Xiamen Jianfa Bay Yuecheng. The event is guided by the Xiamen Organizing Committee of Music, hosted by the Xiamen Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism, and undertaken by Xiamen Media and Television Co., Ltd. This year, the model of “Fujian singers + street performances” was adopted for the first time this year.
The event brought together nearly a hundred contestants from southern Fujian and Taiwan to register for the competition. Among the contestants, the oldest was 65 years old and the youngest was only 10. In the end, selected by experts, the original song “Peony Flower” won the best songwriting award of this competition, “Shui Cha Mou” won the best song singing award, “Letter from Nanyang” won the best creative award, and “Grandma Zai Where” won the best rookie award.
For the first time this year, contestants were invited to enter Zhongshan Road and Gulangyu Island to enrich the spiritual and cultural life of citizens. The event also held the 15th Anniversary Golden Melody Retrospective for the first time in the form of a “match belt exhibition”, allowing citizens to fully experience the charm of Hokkien music.
