Idukki: The accused in the Kattappana rape case was hacked to death by the complainant’s husband. The victim was identified as Thaniyil Shaise Paul, a native of Kattappana Vellilamkandam. The incident took place near Kattappana police station around 12 noon on Monday.
Chaise was stabbed in the neck while walking with his wife on the road near the police station. He was rushed to a private hospital in Kattappana and later to a hospital in Thodupuzha. The accused in the incident has been taken into police custody.
In 2018, Shays Paul registered a rape case once morest the accused. Chaise was attacked by the victim’s husband in this case. The incident took place while the rape case was being heard in court.
