According to MeteoNews, there was enough fresh snow in the lowlands during the night for a little foam. According to MeteoSchweiz, more snow seems to have fallen in Central and Eastern Switzerland than in the western Central Plateau and French-speaking Switzerland.
At 4 a.m. on Monday morning there were still some snow showers here and there. The road between Laupen and Neuenegg in the canton of Bern is still closed in both directions due to a landslide. The lockdown was imposed on Saturday evening.
No traffic accidents yet
Traffic is currently rolling on the streets, according to a survey conducted by the cantonal police in Zurich and Bern. The streets are partly slippery, especially at higher altitudes. However, there were no reports of traffic accidents at the early hour. That might change in the next few hours with more traffic.
The changeable weather gradually subsides. The air pressure increases continuously. From Wednesday, a strong high pressure area with a core over the British Isles will determine the weather in Switzerland. On Thursday, the air pressure in Switzerland is likely to rise to an exceptionally high 1040 hectopascals. (SDA)
