In addition, they discussed ways to support the stay and return of Asiana Airlines passengers and crew members who landed at Almaty Airport in Kazakhstan on the night of the 5th and rushed to a hotel, etc.
An official from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs explained, “First of all, we will provide support for their stay so that they can live safely in the area.”
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs decided to activate an emergency response team and operate it until the situation is over.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported that there have been no reports of damage to Koreans residing in the area.
Another foreign ministry official said, “The government is closely monitoring the situation in Kazakhstan and will continue to take necessary support and measures for the safety of Koreans living abroad.”
“It is regrettable that the protests in major cities, including Almaty and Nur-Sultan, have caused casualties,” he said.
In Kazakhstan, large-scale anti-government protests have continued for the sixth day in the largest city of Almaty.
The police and military suppression of the protesters killed more than 50 protesters, and it is known that there were many casualties among the suppression military and police.
