Tokyo Revengers stars in campaign on lowering the legal age in Japan – Kudasai

Since January 7, the Japanese government has started an information campaign on the upcoming reduction of the legal age in Japan, in collaboration with the animated franchise of Tokyo Revengers. At the same time, different commercials are being distributed on television on the matter.

The collaboration project is designed to raise awareness regarding the changes associated with the reduction of the age of majority from 20 to 18 years that will come into effect on April 1, to alert regarding consumer problems and to encourage consumers who will be the new adults. The slogan “New 18 year olds! Do not be afraid! Create your own future!”Reflects the expectation that people are aware that the legal age carries both rights and obligations towards society.

Special collaboration visual includes characters Takemichi Hanagaki, Manjirou Sano, Takashi Mitsuya, Chiguyu Matsuno Y Hinata Tachibana wearing traditional clothing and accompanied by the official campaign logos and slogans. Additionally, a campaign with the hashtag has also started # 18 Flag campaign of determination to lift the ban (# 18 Year Adult Determination Campaign) where 18 and 19 year olds are invited to be considered of legal age on April 1, from one day to the next. Their messages will be featured on roadside billboards and in an advertisement in Shibuya, Tokyo, at the end of February, accompanied by characters from Tokyo Revengers.

Tokyo Revengers Synopsis

Takemichi Hanagaki’s second year of high school was the highest point of his life. He had respect, a gang of friends he might count on, and even a girlfriend. But that was twelve years ago. Today he is a nobody: a rickety nullity that children make fun of and that is always forced to apologize to his younger boss. Sudden news regarding the cruel murder by the Tokyo Manji Gang of the only girlfriend he had with his brother only adds insult to injury. Half a second before a train ends his sorry life forever, Takemichi returns to that same day twelve years ago, when he was still dating Hinata Tachibana.

After being forced to relive the same day his downward spiral began, Takemichi meets Hinata’s little brother. Without thinking, he admits his apparent death before turning to the past. Takemichi urges him to protect his sister before inexplicably returning to the future. Miraculously, he is not dead. Stranger still, the future has changed. It seems that Takemichi can alter the flow of time. Faced with the opportunity to avoid the tragic death of his ex-girlfriend at the hands of the Tokyo Manji Gang, Takemichi decides to fly through time to change the course of the future.
