Kolkata: Indian defender Sandesh Jhinkan has returned to the ISL. He will play for his former club ATK Mohun Bagan. The club have officially confirmed that Sandesh has signed a contract with Jinkan. Jinkan will play in the number five jersey.
Jinkan, who had earlier signed a contract with Croatian club HNK Sibini, had gone to Croatia for matches. However, due to injury, the player was unable to play in any of the matches. He then returned to India for treatment. Jinkan arrived with his contract with the team terminated.
Jinkan ATK came to Mohan Bagan following playing for the Kerala Blasters in the ISL for six consecutive seasons. He first signed a contract with Mohan Bagan in 2020. Jinkan, who captained the Blasters, is one of the team’s best runners in the run – up seasons. Jinkan has many fans in Kerala.
