Hours before the public health body made the figures for the day public, the Minister of Health, Olivier Véran, had advanced that the figure of 335,000 new cases of covid during the debate before the National Assembly of a bill to impose a vaccination certificate instead of the health certificate.

Véran justified this bill, which if it is adopted as the Government wants next week, it will force to have the complete vaccination schedule for a multitude of social activities such as having a drink in a bar or in a restaurant, going to the movies, to a show. , to a theater or traveling on long-distance public transport.
The minister stressed that people who are not vaccinated have a 20 times greater risk of ending up in intensive care units than the rest.
Today there were 20,688 people hospitalized for coronavirus in France and 3,695 in the ICUs, which represents an increase compared to Tuesday, when they were 20,186 and 3,665, respectively.
In any case, these figures are far from the absolute records of 33,500 hospitalized patients reached in mid-November 2020 and of the more than 7,100 patients in intensive care units that occurred at the beginning of April of that same year.

The incidence rate of coronavirus in seven days in France it has exceeded the bar of 1,900 cases per 100,000 inhabitants since January 2, the last day for which there are official figures.

The news regarding the covid in France has been marked in the last hours by the words of the president, Emmanuel Macron, who in an interview with the newspaper Le Parisien showed his willingness to put all the pressure on the unvaccinated, saying that he really wanted to annoy them and for this he used a colloquial verb, “emmerder”, which can also be translated as fuck or by whore.
That expression provoked a strong reaction, with criticism from the political opposition and a blockage of several hours in the Assembly of the processing of its bill on the health certificate.
His prime minister, Jean Castex, tried to justify this controversial term used by Macron, noting that “there is a problem with citizens who refuse to be vaccinated. It is not insulting anyone. It is the reality that the President of the Republic wanted to remember ”.
That problem of the unvaccinated, according to Castex, is that by their decision not to be vaccinated they run more risks of contaminating others and collapsing health services.
Beyond the controversy, the prime minister appealed to the deputies to continue with the examination of the legislative project and emphasized that “vaccination is and continues to be our essential weapon and we will continue to promote it.”
