PlayStation Studios has announced Horizon Call of the Mountain, the first game presented for the newly detailed PlayStation VR2, the virtual reality headset for PlayStation 5. The title is being co-developed by Guerrilla Games, the creators of Horizon Zero Dawn Y Horizon Forbidden West, beside Firesprite, the studio specialized in virtual reality that Sony acquired last September. Neither the game nor the VR device have release date, but you can watch a sneak peek trailer below.
Horizon Call of the Mountain will develop in first person and for the first time in the saga we will control a character other than Aloy; “soon”, according to Jan-Bart van Beek, director of Guerrilla, will introduce the protagonist of the game. That does not mean that Aloy will not appear, as she will be present with other well-known characters and new ones.
The video shows who stars in the adventure taking a boat ride by a jungle river accompanied by two other characters, but the almost pastoral moment is interrupted by the appearance of a long neck (the gigantic robots that in Horizon Zero Dawn we use to obtain data from the surroundings) that is crossed on the road.
Van Beek, also art and animation director at Guerrilla, explains in en playstation blog: “Created for the PlayStation VR2, this unique experience has been designed for take technology, innovation and gameplay. Graphics prints and new PS VR2 Sense mandos give new meaning to being completely immersed in the world of Horizon“.
Horizon Forbidden West arrive in six weeks
In the video, the developer explains that Call of the Mountain has been cooking within Guerrilla in parallel to Horizon Forbidden West, the new open world adventure starring Aloy arriving on Friday February 18, 2022 for PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4.
