Star of sweets in Crans, a little too prolific undoubtedly in its numerous branches, not always aware of its subject in Crans, Taillens hits the mark everywhere, rue de la Gare, Montana side, a stone’s throw from the office of the Resort tourism. The wooded setting, with its old skis as coat racks, benches, souvenir photos, skylights, here and there, in a chic mountain setting with its weathered paneling, rests. The service smiles, is prompt and, oh surprise, the lunch meals are very correct, offering, moreover, an unfailing value for money.
Examples? The funny ” Pizz’alpes ”, a bit of a gadget, with its AOP rye pancake, its Chermignon ham, its Tourtemagne cheese, its crushed tomatoes and its Grand-Saint-Bernard herbs, its classic vol au vent very well executed, with fine puff pastry, tongue, sweetbread and veal loin, but also chicken fillets, cream and mushrooms, the “daily specials” for lunch during the week, such as roast beef (cold) with its fresh Friday salad.
We drink the fruity Gamay “Terra Veritas” from Provins Valais in Sion and, as a result, we pick up a homemade pastry (like the famous liquid lemon tart or the one, but, alas, with its slightly soggy dough, with apricots. ) or the monumental chomemade iced afé. Nice homemade coffee served with its delicious shortbread cookie.
