A woman in Arecibo was the victim of fraud following $ 11,000 was withdrawn from her bank account.
The preliminary police report indicates that the woman received a call from a person who identified himself as an employee of a health insurance plan and asked for personal information. After this, $ 11,000 was withdrawn from his account.
The case was referred to the Property Crimes division of Arecibo.
The Puerto Rico Police Bureau urged citizens to be very careful when receiving calls from unknown numbers and giving personal information over the phone to people you do not know.
