Apple AirPods Pro 2 wireless earbuds get updated design and lossless support

The second generation AirPods Pro are expected to receive an updated look and support for the lossless audio format.

No AirPods currently support lossless technology, which compresses audio without losing quality. All models of Apple wireless headphones work via Bluetooth, which means they are limited by the capabilities of the Advanced Audio Codec codec. It looks like the situation will change this year and the second generation AirPods Pro will receive support for the Apple Lossless Audio Codec, which provides uncompressed audio transmission. Thanks to this, the sound quality is significantly improved, but the volume of transmitted data also increases.

As for the changes in the appearance of the device, the analyst did not specify what exactly the second generation AirPods Pro will become. Previously, he spoke out in favor of the fact that the new headphones can get a design reminiscent of the Beats Fit Pro. It was also said that the charging case of the new headphones will be able to make sounds, which can be useful if it gets lost. Apple is expected to unveil the AirPods Pro 2 in the fourth quarter of 2022, almost three years following the first-generation headphones were released.
