Colombian exports accelerate growth rate in November

BOGOTÁ, Dec 31 (Archyde.com) – Colombia’s exports showed a strong increase during November, driven by higher prices for its basket of goods and services, as well as higher sales volumes, figures from the National Statistics Department revealed on Friday. (DANE).

The value of exports from the South American country soared 58% in November to 3,987.5 million dollars, compared to the same month the previous year.

The variation exceeded that registered by external sales in October, when its value rose 43.5% year-on-year.

The rebound in the penultimate month of the year was explained by coal exports, whose value more than quadrupled to $ 634.7 million compared to November 2020, DANE specified in a report.

It was followed by sales of oil and its derivatives with an increase of 74.1% to 1,254.8 million dollars and those of coffee with 38.5% to 305.9 million dollars.

In volume, Colombia’s exports rose 39.4% year-on-year in November to 7.67 million metric tons.

In the accumulated between January and November, the value of exports from the fourth largest economy in Latin America rose by 30.9% to 36,674 million dollars, once morest the same segment of the previous year.

However, in terms of volume, Colombian exports accumulated a 16.8% drop to 89.1 million metric tons in the first 11 months.
