With the power of his arms, Jean-Jacques Savin will seek to cross the Atlantic Ocean for 90 days by canoe

Jean-Jacques Savin 74-year-old citizen of French nationality, began his journey to cross the Atlantic Ocean solo inside a canoe, expects to reach the Caribbean in the American continent in 90 days.

Jean-Jacques Savin is a former French soldier from Ares, in southeastern France and is 74 years old.

The Jean-Jacques Savin’s purpose is to cross the Atlantic Ocean he alone, aboard a canoe called Audacious (“L’Audacieux”). The canoe he uses for his feat is painted bright orange and is regarding eight meters long, plus it weighs a ton.

The French citizen left his native Ares last December 24 in the morning to spend Christmas Eve in Cáceres, Spain from where he later went to Sagres, in Portugal Approximately 87 kilometers away, where he began his canoe trip.

The ex-military man left Sagres this Saturday, January 1 in the morning and hopes to reach the Caribbean following 90 days of crossing, in which he will have to row for eight to ten hours a day.

Inside the canoe Jean-Jacques Savin brings with it 300 kilograms of supplies, including a bottle of champagne that she plans to open on her 75th birthday, January 14.

In December 2018, Savin achieved cross the Osky Atlantic at the age of 71, aboard a barrel three meters long by two meters wide painted bright orange.

Jean-Jacques Savin’s journey began in the Canary Islands and ended on the Caribbean island of Saint Eustace In 2019, on a trip that lasted four months, where, supported by the currents, he managed to cross 4,715 kilometers.
