Influencer arrested for nearly $ 1 million fraud

Australian authorities detained a social media personality on Friday for allegedly cheating investors.

Border officials apprehended former fashion model and wellness blogger, Bianca Cheah, upon her arrival from America.

A magistrate indicted her on two fraud charges, according to the Herald Sun.

The 40-year-old allegedly swindled numerous individuals out of approximately AUS $1 million (roughly CAN $920,000).

A formal grievance was lodged in 2018 against Ms. Cheah and her former spouse by individuals who had invested in their venture, Sporteluxe.

These investors believed the influencer had falsified the company’s financial records.

After being granted pretrial release, Bianca Cheah’s next court appearance is scheduled for February 22.
