Following her departure from Radio Mitre last Thursday, the accomplished Cristina Pérez is joining Radio Rivadavia in 2022. The journalist from Tucumán will helm the AM 630 station’s second morning show, airing from 9 AM to 12 PM. This marks the fourth prominent personality to leave the leading station. Pérez, previously the star of “Confesiones” at 11 PM, leaves with stellar ratings and audience shares.
While the arrival of Eduardo Feinmann to Mitre’s morning program was anticipated, Pérez was considered a top contender for that time slot. However, this wasn’t the driving force behind her decision. A source close to the journalist explained, “She’s long desired a heightened challenge in a morning program. This opportunity seems perfectly suited,” Pérez, along with Rodolfo Barili, presently leads the viewership ratings for primetime news broadcasts on Telefe News, significantly outperforming its main competitor, Telenoche.
Prior to “Confesiones,” Pérez had various radio roles. However, it was this show that truly propelled her to prominence, boasting a 40% audience share and a conversational style perfectly suited to the evening slot. She skillfully integrated commentary offering her perspectives and engaging in dialogue with leading figures within politics, economics, and global affairs.
The news of Pérez’s move to Radio Rivadavia AM 630 broke on New Year’s Day, becoming one of the year’s significant radio transfers. While this transition surprised some, it was anticipated by many, particularly those following the station’s social media. For days, AM 630’s Twitter and Instagram accounts teased: “Very soon, Cristina joins Radio Rivadavia for the first time. Don’t miss it!”. This announcement, made on December 29th, rapidly spread online. The ensuing lively conversations among listeners were notable for the initial ambiguity surrounding whether the “Cristina” mentioned was actually Vice President Cristina Kirchner.
Recently, Cristina Pérez finalized her agreement to join the Alpha Media Group’s AM radio network. Starting Monday, January 31st, she’ll host Rivadavia’s second morning news program, weekdays from 9 AM to 12 PM. The two-time Martín Fierro award winner accepted this challenge, realizing a long-held ambition.

She also expressed her gratitude, stating, “I’m thankful for the Alpha group’s faith in me, a journalist who approaches her work with daily enthusiasm. I eagerly anticipate reconnecting with our listeners to craft the radio experience they deserve.”
Cristina Pérez boasts a distinguished career spanning over two decades within Argentina’s media landscape, encompassing national television, radio, and print journalism.
Currently, she anchors the primetime news program, Telefe Noticias, airing at 8 PM on Telefé-Viacom, Channel 11, a position she’s held since 2002. Her contributions also extend to BBC Mundo, alongside opinion pieces published in various prominent Argentine outlets.
A deep-seated passion for literature forms the bedrock of her communication style. In 2015, she unveiled her debut novel, “El Jardín de los Delatores,” following her 2011 collection of short stories, “Cuentos Unesperados.” Her most recent work, “The Dark Lady,” released in 2021, has garnered favorable reviews.
Her literary pursuits further encompass theater criticism and analysis for publications such as ADN, Página 12, Farsa Mag, and Ultrabrit.
Her literary inclinations led her to the stage, where she’s taken on leading roles in Shakespearean plays, portraying characters like Lady Macbeth, Cleopatra, and Queen Elizabeth. She served as patron of the Buenos Aires Shakespeare Festival for its first six years.
Her media experience encompasses a broad spectrum of outlets, including Radio Del Plata, Canal 9 (Azul Noticias, Research Zone), Gente Magazine, Perfil.com, CBS Telenoticias, Ciudad Abierta TV, La Estrella Digital de Madrid, among others.
Pérez is the recipient of five Tato Awards for exceptional newscasting and journalism, a Martin Fierro for the Research Zone program, the prestigious International Woman To Watch accolade, and a Security Award recognizing her journalistic achievements in television. Telefé News garnered four Martin Fierro awards for best newscast under her leadership.
She’s an active member of FOPEA (Foro de Periodismo Argentino), a non-governmental organization dedicated to advancing professional journalistic ethics. She also participates as a Key Opinion Leader within the Argentine Council for International Relations (CARI KOL).
Eduardo Feinmann is set to take over Longobardi’s 6 to 10 PM time slot, possibly beginning February 7th. However, the future of Rossi and Di Marco’s 7 to 8 PM show remains uncertain.
Station insiders suggest Gonzalo Sánchez and his program, Sanchez bark, will occupy the 10 PM to midnight slot. ButVeteran broadcaster Pablo Rossi will make his debut on Monday, January 31st, at AM 630, airing on AlphaMedia. Having announced his departure from Radio Miter, he inked a deal with Radio Rivadavia AM 630, a contract that will bind him to the network for the duration of 2022.
